An Anthracene-Based Tripodal Chemosensor for Anion Sensing

An anthracene-based tripodal ligand was synthesized from the condensation of tren with 9-anthraldehyde, and the subsequent reduction with sodium borohydride. The neutral ligand was protonated from the reaction with p-toluenesulfonic acid to give a triply charged chemosensor that was examined for its anion binding ability toward fluoride, chloride, bromide, sulfate and nitrate by the fluorescenc...

Pyridinium-based tripodal chemosensor in visual sensing of AMP in water by indicator displacement assay (IDA).

A simple pyridinium-based tripodal chemosensor, 1, effectively recognizes AMP over ATP and ADP through indicator displacement assay (IDA) technique in water at pH 6.4. The good recognition of 1 is due to the better accommodation of AMP at the core of 1 as well as functional interaction involving hydrogen bonding and charge-charge interaction. The sensor 1 also recognizes intracellular AMP.

Squaramide-based tripodal receptors for selective recognition of sulfate anion.

Squaramide-based tripodal anion receptors have been prepared and their anion binding properties with various inorganic anions were investigated. Receptor formed a dimeric complex in solid state and a 1 : 1 complex in solution with SO(4)(2-). All receptors could selectively encapsulate SO(4)(2-)via hydrogen bonds over other examined anions.

Tripodal Receptors for Cation and Anion Sensors

This review discusses different types of artificial tripodal receptors for the selective recognition and sensing of cations and anions. Examples on the relationship between structure and selectivity towards cations and anions are described. Furthermore, their applications as potentiometric ion sensing are emphasised, along with their potential applications in optical sensors or optodes.

Anion-modulated, highly sensitive supramolecular fluorescence chemosensor for C(70).

A new readily synthesized fluorescent chemosensor, calix[1]pyreno[3]pyrrole, displays excellent affinity with C(70). Anion-induced facile conformational changes and the dynamic nature of the receptor could be an excellent scaffold for sensing electron-deficient guests.
